World Cup Fever

Wussup people!!..How’s the holiday been? Good? I hope so ‘cos half of it is almost gone!...anyway, it’s been raining these few days; so nice to sleep in L oh well…it’s still early in the morning and my brain’s kinda sleeping, so pardon me if none of this makes any sense. Anyway, I heard that the new batch of freshies are gonna be in a ratio of 4 girls : 1 boy. Oh my…that doesn’t really sound good. Where are all the guys??!!!...anyway, at least now the guys will have more eye candies to google over. Lol. I wonder why is it that business school always seems to have more girls than guys when in fact in the real world we see more guys than girls. Yes, you might say most of the girls just get settled down after awhile of marriage and stay home to look after the family, but we are no longer in the 18th century. I wonder where all the guys are. So if next semester, you find yourself in a class and you happen to be the only guy, don’t be shocked.

Ooo…this is to Lynn, who actually read my post! Greetings! How’s Germany? I bet it’s super bombarded by lots of world cup banners and stuff right? Are you gonna try to catch any of the matches? I wonder do they broadcast it there on tv for all the matches unlike stingy Singapore (don’t quote me). ONLY 4 MATCHES out of 64 games. Tsk tsk tsk. Anyway, the canteen’s kinda like my hair; once a forest, now nearly bald. Haha. We only got 7 stalls left standing, of which only like 4 are doing well. You can guess which 4. Ooo, but there is a new chicken rice stall, thank goodness. It’s a little better than the previous in terms of the sauces for the chicken. They got lemon, spicy and jus the plain old chicken sauce. Bet I’m making you really hungry huh? Haha. At least u get to eat all the sausages there, big fat juicy yummy long sausages. Anyway do tell me how it’s like being on an exchange program in Germany, maybe that can help some of our readers who might be interested of going there one day for exchange. I might!

Just for fun, for people who are interested to practice their skills in watching the odds in the world cup. Try doing this. Each day, jus look at how the odds move in the market and see how sometimes when a particular team becomes too heavy ( ie overwhelming demand for it), miraculously, even though that team may be better, they somehow will not win!. Interesting huh? Or maybe it’s just some one out there playing around to make people lose money. Try it and see if you indeed have a good foresight!

Anyway, soccer aside, have you ever wonder if what you are taking now as a major is really the right choice? Then what if it isn’t? what if you realize that suddenly you aren’t interested anymore? What will you do then? Leave me a comment ‘cos I’m interested to know what you would do.

Today’s Friday! Hope you guys enjoy your weekend and enjoy the World Cup fever!

Ciao

Exchange in Germany right now is amazing, coz it's the World Cup! I don't know what Germany's normally like, but I suspect this is the time when their nationalistic spirit is at its strongest. Definitely something that future exchange students might not experience... =X

The Germans make an awful lot of noise each time the German team wins a match. They'll be partying and drinking and blaring on their car horns all day / night.. and the advertisements between games... Man. way too much soccer-related stuff!! Though some are pretty cute...

I think as an exchange student, there's a lot that's amazing about just being somewhere else besides Singapore. Germany was supposedly not the most exciting option, but it's been great.

Little piece of advice though - learn to cook. Europe in general doesn't have our convenience culture when it comes to food.

Maybe I'll have to do a presentation on my exchange experience. See how it goes when I get back.
