Musings from the BBA Office

Woah. Time flies by really fast - it's been almost a month since I've started work at the Dean's Office.

Basically to regurgitate what Cheryl and Alex have mentioned, we have been busy with the admissions process (ie, the student calling, interview sessions/lunches, and all that jazz), and also to help to propel our undergrad programs (including the relatively newer ones, ie Accounting and MSc) to the freshmen. It is heartening to know that the school is taking a much more proactive approach towards recruiting top quality students. Let's hope that they will bring pride and glory to the Bizad family!

To a freshie like me - it was also a great time to get to interact with the graduating seniors during the MSc interview sessions and the networking luncheons - and to understand more about their 'growing up pains' in the school (especially during their final/Hons year).

On a sidenote, I presume that everyone should have gotten their exam results now - if not, where have you been!. :)

I'm sure there were times where one was stunned by that poor grade screaming in your face, where you expected to excel in it (or at least, didn't expect to do so badly). And to what seemingly seems like rubbing salt into an open wound, you see/hear other students acing their modules throughout (keyword is 'throughout') their Bizad life (their transcripts are literally flooded with 'A+'s and "A-"s) - they are so greatly revered/admired by others so that their name(s) also become the urban legends that students worship on when they need some desperate spiritual support for their grades.

And after weeks of nail-biting in fear, the term break arrives and so, the CAP-grade chase continues next semester yet again.

While Googling to locate this blog, I managed to chance upon another BBA blog maintained by the Ross School of Business (Ross School of Business (in the University of Michigan) is one of the top B-schools in the States for both their undergrad and graduate programs), and there was a post that seemed to relate to this. Shall leave you guys with the link:

That's all for now, I gotta start contacting them again.

Cheers,
