Ode to Sunil
This is dedicated to Sunil.
Next week starting Monday, Sunil will be starting a new chapter of his life, in Barclays Capital, in Investment Trading. He was the earliest guy to submit his thesis ;-)
Received a call from him to say goodbye. How sweet! It's really, really nice of him. He made a point to take the time to call each and everyone he knew in the School to say goodbye. Isn't he a nice guy!
It was really a good chat. It's really sad that I got to know more about him only when he is leaving. Got to know that he was offered Law, and gave it up; was from TJC (should have roped him in outreach events to his alma mater).
It's gonna be difficult to catch hold of him. He's due to be in Japan and Hong Kong for a couple of weeks, and training in London for 3 - 4 months come July.
Hope he will do well, and urged him to pace himself (we all hear a lot of burnt-out cases of investment bankers and traders). But I'm sure that he will know how to take care of himself. From the way he has planned his life in BBA, he's disciplined and sure-footed, I'm sure he'll do just fine.
