Emails from students who are away
Today, I received emails from two students who are away. It's really nice to hear from them. One is in NOC (NUS Overseas College) in Biovalley, Philadelphia, attending Wharton/UPenn (several BBAs in NOC Philly) and another in SEP (Student Exchange Program) in Spain having a wonderful time.
Will take the liberty to share one of the two emails here.

"My friends were visiting the past 2 weeks and I've been busy being a tourist with them. Was at Madrid as well - the Bullfight is amazing. If you don't see me back at Bizad next sem, I might have run off to be a Matador. (well, I hope he doesn't, as we still want him back here, to complete his degree back here..)
(He was in Barcelona then, and I was asking him about football (soccer I mean, not Americal football) as the immediate association I have upon the mention of Barcelona is a famous Spanish soccer league team. Hey, I'm not much of a football fan.) Nope, unfortunately I'm not too fond of soccer. Poor psychomotor skills have always impeded my soccer skills. Haha. But I'm probably going to catch a Barcelona FC match live sometime in the middle of April.
Oh, read the blog - Prof. Lau is funny. (yah, isn't it just funky and groovy. Am trying hard to persuade other members of the faculties to go on the blog. Well, not much luck thus far. But still trying, will continue to try.)
It's the last week of school for me next week so hurrah. Will be headed off to Amsterdam and Berlin before heading back to Spain. Might rent a car with my friends and drive to San Sebastien then. (Such a lucky guy, I am so envious!) Haha yup, so not going to be around much. "

Sorry, no photos. Have asked him to take lots of photos.
Back in my time in NUS (note: definitely, definitely not as old as Geok Theng's), student exchange programs are practically non-existent. (SEPs? Uh? what's that?) The primary goal of coming to university was to get the coveted degree and go out. Enjoy life? Those were the days..... See how things have changed. Students' perception of a university life has changed. Now, fast forward to the future, what will be the expectations of students of university life, say 10 to 20 years from now?
