NUS Business Graduates Start Well

Thought I'll share this with you, in case you missed it. It appeared in ST Forum last Saturday 18 March:

====================

Following your interesting articles on graduate employment on February 28, March 8 and 9, NUS Business School would like to share some further information to highlight the very positive experience of its graduates in the last year.

Thanks to strong economic growth in Singapore, employment and salaries are at all-time highs for NUS graduates since employment surveys were started more than ten years ago.  At NUS Business School, we are pleased that 98% of our graduates found jobs—either full-time, part-time or with secured offerings—less than six months after graduation.  In terms of salary, the top 20% of our School’s graduating cohort achieved a high starting average pay of $3,208 a month, putting them well ahead of their competitors.

Employment and salary numbers are just two indicators of the value of our graduates.  Our 2005 graduates have shown that the diversity and richness of their experience on campus has positioned them well for different employment settings to suit each individual best.  In this regard, there are global corporate high-flyers like Mr Howard Pang, who is in the Equities Research Department, ABN Amro Securities based in Hong Kong; Ms Narainda, who is bringing her new-found knowledge to her family's trading business; and Ms Emily Ong who enjoys being her own boss, so had started an online retail shop as well as a café business at Far East Plaza.

As the economy continues to improve, all augurs well for Singapore’s fresh graduates.  We wish them the best as they blaze new trails for themselves and contribute to the growth of our national economy.
